The Strategic Marketing and Data Analyst will be responsible for researching, survey and proving analysis on online engagement, direct mail, and email solicitations. The annual giving team must continue to be strategic through increased segmentation and testing. This position would be responsible for creating test segments for the 100 or so direct mail and email solicitations to assist in the strategic direction for the annual giving solicitations. Recommendations should work to complement multi-channel solicitation strategies.
This position is responsible for working with the other development coordinators to ensure creative is developed for direct mail pieces and developing a test cycle within each direct mail or email solicitation. Assists in providing an understanding of timing of solicitation based on research and analysis. Work with the Director of Annual Giving to develop short and long range plans based on testing cycles.
In partnership with the Director of Annual Giving, oversees program and volunteer management of Annual Giving programs and associated activities. The Strategic Marketing and Data Analyst is responsible for the planning of programs to engage Washington State University Recent Graduate and Students as volunteers and donors. The incumbent will be responsible for the creation and enhancement of an environment that emphasizes the philanthropic spirit of Washington State University through education, marketing, activities, solicitation, volunteer involvement, and enhancement of private support and its effects on the university. Participates in and/or coordinates the development and implementation of fundraising activities to meet the Annual Giving unit’s goals. This position represents theWSUFoundation and the University to internal and external constituents and fosters the positive working relationships necessary to meet unit and fiscal year goals.
A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communications or related field and three (3) years of professional level experience in marketing, promotional or related work. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Clear written and verbal communication skills. • Effective interpersonal skills that demonstrate the ability to work with variety of individuals, such as prospects/donors, faculty, development officers, and administration. • Understanding of proposal development and writing. • Knowledge of fundraising principles and techniques. • Demonstrated project management and event planning skills. • Ability to travel throughout the greater Puget Sound Region. • Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation suitable for attending meetings each day throughout the region. • Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
Capital campaign experience. • Demonstrated ability to manage a complex service unit. • Demonstrated ability to form and lead an effective team while functioning in multiple roles as a team member. • Fundraising experience at a comprehensive public or private research university or similar complex organization.
Additional Salary Information: Monthly Salary: $3,333 + DOE
