The Position: The Assistant Director of Admissions for Marketing and Recruitment serves as a key member of the University’s enrollment team. The Assistant Director is responsible for the development and execution of the recruitment and communications plan, managing campus visits/special events, and supervising the recruitment team. Anticipated start date is December 1, 2017.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruitment, Marketing, and Communications Management
Provide vision and leadership in the development of a comprehensive recruitment and communications strategy, oversee the development and execution of all recruitment materials (marketing, publications, web, integrated electronic communications and direct mail programs); work closely with University Communications staff in an effort to maximize recruitment, marketing, and outreach efforts.
Manage and understand data to develop more informed strategies to meet undergraduate enrollment goals; analyze ROI for communication efforts in order to better allocate resources; work to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of all recruitment and communication efforts
Play a key role in developing and executing student search strategies; make decisions on name purchases and vendor selection.
Administer the recruitment, communication, and visit day budgets; ensuring responsible use of department resources
Manage the Admissions recruitment team to ensure enrollment goals are met on an ongoing basis and that staff act ethically, professionally, and with integrity in all activities
Work closely with the Director and other members of the Admissions Leadership Team to create a supportive, inclusive, and collaborative team environment where communication, trust, and accountability are valued
Admissions and Enrollment Management
Positively represent UWRF to a wide variety of constituents, including prospective students and their families, secondary and postsecondary school personnel, community-based organizations, and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process.
Maintain a thorough knowledge in the field of admissions, recruitment, and enrollment management; assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to undergraduate admissions
Collaborate regularly, and extensively with other academic and/or administrative units on campus to ensure optimal effectiveness throughout the recruitment, admission, and enrollment experience
Special Event Management
Responsible for the development, management, and assessment of all special events related to the recruitment of new students.
Bachelor’s Degree and at least 3 years of experience in higher education or related field
Skilled communicator (oral and written), with success in developing and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships
Effective in developing and implementing recruitment, marketing, and communication strategies
Commitment to developing an inclusive, highly collaborative work environment among faculty, staff, and students
Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one
Earned Master’s Degree
At least 5 years of progressive admissions or recruitment experience
Organization and attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet project deadlines
Supervisory experience, with the ability to provide effective leadership for team members
Ability to exercise solid professional judgment and maintain confidentiality
Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools, and a willingness to learn and adapt to new and changing technology in enrollment management
