WHO WE ARE SEEKING
LeadingAge Texas is a small staff association seeking a new team member to fill the role of Communications Manager. This is a full-time position with the primary responsibility of developing and implementing all communication activities for the association.
The Communications Manager is responsible for all digital and print communications of the Association in order to provide members and related parties with timely & relevant brand-focused information and a consistent message across all platforms.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develop, implement and manage in-bound and out-bound marketing strategies for the Association and affiliates.
Develop, implement and manage short- and long-term strategies and expectations.
Develop marketing materials with a measurable action.
Analyze and optimize performance of marketing campaigns.
Develop and implement outreach initiatives for media and public relations purposes.
Craft and issue press releases and press kits
Responsible for coordination & promotion of fundraising for the association and its affiliates.
Develop and grow target marketing lists to increase interests in events, membership, and public policy.
Manage, produce and distribute all digital and print communications, marketing and collateral materials for the association and affiliates.
Manage content of the digital platform, and add features that drive traffic and readership.
Research, propose and develop new features.
Monitor and report usage and related statistics.
Utilize social media for marketing and member engagement.
Develop and manage e-newsletters, surveys, blogs, online communities, social media, video and related multimedia resources.
Maintain a solid and interactive website for the association
Manage production schedules and marketing calendar.
Prepare and manage communications budget.
Proofread and edit all association documents.
Attends the annual conference, and other meetings or conferences as assigned
Staff liaison to volunteer peer groups including Development and Marketing; others as assigned.
The Communications Manager is a creative, self-starter able to initiate, execute and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
The Communications Manager has experience creating and implementing communications and marketing strategies designed to attract, inform and engage the association members and stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, skills & abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field
3-5 years of experience in equivalent position creating and implementing all aspects of a successful communications & marketing program
Computer skills & strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Experience with social media platforms, graphic design software, email marketing software, and content management & association management systems (YourMembership & basic HTML a plus)
Experience maintaining and updating website content
Experience with creating digital and print media including ads, e-newsletters, publications, press releases, PR kits, etc.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong editorial skills with attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members
Excellent organizational & time management skills
