Reporting to the Senior Director for Domestic and International Recruitment, the position will create engaging, informative, and strategic social media content to showcase the University's strongest assets needed to recruit students. The incumbent is responsible for the management and growth of social media presence in support of both domestic and international graduate recruitment efforts in line with the university enrollment goals. The position will also work closely with the Office of Marketing and Communication to coordinate marketing activities in support of the graduate enrollment initiatives. The position is also responsible for working with the marketing agency supporting digital marketing to create a digital marketing strategy in support of the graduate enrollment goals.
Ensure strong social media presence needed to attract quality graduate students to the university
Build and maintain blogs, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn and other social media platforms needed to support international and domestic recruitment
Support the recruitment team in recruitment efforts using Facebook Live, Snapchat, WeChat, WhatsApp etc
Hire and supervise talented graduate student workers to support social media efforts
Using country specific social media platforms to obtain analytics by country and use it effectively to perform outreach in these countries
Maintain daily active presence in the graduate admissions social media page responding to student inquiries, posting articles, relevant material
Collaborate with the recruiters and operations team to ensure integration of social media into communication plans to prospective/new students
Support social media initiatives to support continuing and returning students
Coordinate with the University alumni and Communications and Marketing offices in sending social media messaging/communications to our alumni
Coordinate with the college program coordinators and Communications and Marketing office to ensure appropriate communications are disseminated to prospective students via appropriate social media platforms and CRM.
Monitor daily traffic to social media outlets and analyzing trends and tracking metrics to alter strategies as needed for maximum impact.
Research new techniques for social media campaigns and creating new platforms to engage prospective students on the new platforms
Serve as the primary interface with the Office of Communications and Marketing to coordinate advertising, that includes media planning
Work with the marketing agency supporting digital marketing to create a digital marketing strategy, ensuring effectiveness of campaigns and working with the agency to monitor and optimize the campaigns regularly
Ensure all social media recruitment campaigns adhere to the university branding and messaging guidelines
Education (Required): A Bachelors degree in communications, advertising, marketing or a related field. Must have excellent verbal skills. Exceptional writing skills, that include proofreading.
Experience (Required): 5+ years experience in a marketing/advertising environment with the majority of that time in the area of digital marketing/social media. Strong expertise and experience in digital/social communications. Experience in Hootsuite and other social media management applications. Working knowledge of global social media platforms. The demonstrated knowledge of social media performance metrics for ROI analysis is necessary as is knowledge of email marketing, search marketing, and SEO best practices. Familiarity with higher education, recruitment marketing, student customer service is preferred.
