North Dakota State University, a NCAA Division I institution, and member of the Summit League, seeks applicants for a 2-year Graduate Assistant - Marketing and Fan Engagement. This position is for a total of two (2) years beginning July 1, 2018 to May 31, 2020. This 2-year position includes a tuition waiver and a stipend of $1,000 per month, no benefits included.
Graduate Assistants will report to the Assistant Athletics Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement, with the goal of using marketing and promotional strategies to generate revenue, increase attendance, and engage fans in a collegiate environment. This person must be willing and able to work nights and weekends throughout the academic school year.
Duties and Responsibilities: • Develop and execute marketing and promotional plans as well as game day production for Women’s Soccer, Women’s Basketball and Baseball programs • Manage and assist with in-game on-field/court promotions at all assigned home events • Communicate with sales staff and ticket office to execute sponsorship agreements and ticket promotions • Comply with the rules, policies and regulations of the department, university, NCAA, and the conference • Oversee Junior Bison Club (kids club) • Supervise student interns at all assigned sporting events • Office hours and event coverage are required • Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s Degree required
Currently enrolled or accepted into the NDSU Graduate School by Fall 2018
Ability to effectively communicate through written, oral, and electronic forms
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign)
Previous experience in sports marketing and promotions
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Sport Management, or other related field is preferred
Strong desire to pursue a career in intercollegiate or professional athletics marketing
Outgoing personality and ability to deal with people in multiple settings and varied backgrounds
Ability to develop and initiate unique ideas; work independently with multiple deadline driven projects
Additional Salary Information: $1,000 per month stipend and Graduate School tuition assistance, no benefits included.
