Establish and meet monthly revenue targets. Support the growth of grants, major giving and annual fund development. Identify and recommend investments in high ROI and mission oriented fundraising strategies. Drive forward and expand upon budding annual fund program and brand building strategy. • Marketing Strategy and Planning: In partnership with senior leaders, ensure that Miracles for Kids’ messaging is consistent and fully integrated across channels. Preserve and strengthen the value of the Miracles brand, while actively positioning the organization and its leadership for the next frontier. Ensure that communications with key stakeholders – whether they are donors, clients or key partners – are effective and aligned with organizational priorities. • Leadership: Lead, coach and inspire a team of development and marketing professionals. Actively recruit top development and marketing talent, while providing meaningful professional development opportunities. • Direct Fundraising: Manage, steward and solicit a personal portfolio of individual and institutional donors. Collaborate with Grant Contractor to write, edit and research grants. Ensure all grant reporting is submitted accurately and on time. Help develop strategies and high-trust relationships with major corporate and foundation donors as needed. • Internal Partnerships: Forge partnerships with board members, colleagues and volunteers to achieve goals. Serve on the executive team, while providing counsel and guidance to the CEO as needed. • Communication: Collaborate with external PR firm year-round to ensure that Miracles is front of mind for key audiences. Serve as the secondary externally facing Miracles spokesperson after the CEO. Write and edit case statements and fundraising proposals. In partnership with the CEO, articulate and socialize the current organizational narrative. Serve as the acting editor-in-chief for all major publications, direct mail letters, stewardship reports and other communications as needed.
Qualifications: The Miracles for Kids development and marketing team is a motivated group, populated by self-starters who communicate readily and have a strong bias for action. The Director of Development and Marketing will prize collaboration while successfully driving forward and accomplishing department objectives. The Director will be resolute in driving the organization forward to help families fight for their children’s lives. Education and experience: • Undergraduate degree required; advanced degree desired • Five to seven years’ experience in grants, major gifts fundraising and non-profit marketing • Experience leading and managing staff • Knowledge of the Orange County philanthropic community is a must
