SGIM – a 3,500 member academic medical association dedicated to improving patient care, education, and research in primary care and general internal medicine, seeks talented marketing manager to design, implement and execute annual marketing strategies for revenue-generating programs, products and publications as well as non-revenue generating activities. The position will be responsible for managing messaging and collateral for both SGIM and its sister organization ACLGIM.
In collaboration with the Director of Communications, create a comprehensive marketing plan with an emphasis on consistent branding for all SGIM and ACLGIM programs and services
Design and execute market research and leverage available data to identify trends, determine member satisfaction and needs, develop pricing strategies and inform strategic direction of organizational offerings.
Write and design promotional materials; edit materials and customize to market segment and deliver to target audiences (SGIM members, external partners, and potential members within the field of general internal medicine) in collaboration with Communications team and appropriate staff. Analyze results for effectiveness and make recommended changes to attain goals.
Work collaboratively across the organization to ensure a comprehensive understanding of key SGIM and ACLGIM activities and integrated key messages throughout all marketing and communications vehicles.
Coordinate with various SGIM/ACLGIM departments to develop, produce, and manage the promotional, marketing, and collateral materials to support each program and/or service.
Incorporate print, direct mail, electronic media, and social media to distribute collateral material as deemed appropriate in order to ensure the best ROI for each program and/or service.
Other project/communications tasks as needed.
Reports to the Director of Communications and works within the communications/marketing strategic team and in collaboration with Social Media Manager.
Desired Qualifications and Requirements for the Position Include:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field.
Minimum four years’ experience managing marketing and advertising programs, including direct marketing. Prior experience on non-profit and/or healthcare field a plus.
Understanding of current online marketing trends and online marketing strategies for campaign fulfillment.
Experience developing, executing, tracking, enhancing, and assessing multi-media marketing campaigns.
Prior experience with membership acquisitions and retention marketing plans.
Expert knowledge of marketing practices, industry trends, and ROI analytics.
Proficiency in membership association marketing and convention marketing.
Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, etc.) for both digital and print marketing materials.
Advanced computer skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of Google Analytics
Proficiency in HTML/CSS and building email templates.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Detail oriented, with strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to meet deadlines, balance competing priorities, and perform a wide variety of tasks over the course of the workday.
Able to work independently and in a team environment.
