We are looking for the next best person to join our team. The successful candidate will serve as internal coordinator on digital media, including social media, and its application for communications, e-newsletters, and other disciplines (conferences, media relations, marketing, etc) and is also responsible for coordinating and assisting with marketing and communications-related activities and daily social media community engagement. We need someone with knowledge, skills and experience specific to digital media applications.
You must be motivated, flexible, organized, and multitask-oriented and committed to high quality work product. Also, must be able to work independently and perform well under pressure to meet project deadlines and goals and resolve problems. We need a person with interpersonal skills, and be able to deal effectively with diverse groups of people at all levels, and you need to be able to work in a team environment with a positive attitude, including coordinating projects with multiple internal and external partners is key. There's even more!
You need to be able to synthesize data into actionable information and think tactically. You need to be comfortable with, coordinating social media programs and social media community engagement. Excellent writing and journalism skills with readiness to use them are critical. Finally.....regular and ad hoc reports on the status and success of online communications will be required.
IAEE is an international trade association representing the trade show, consumer show, and other event face-to-face marketing industry. We are a small staff of 25 with a great work environment.

In conjunction with the VP of Marketing and Communications works on various marketing projects including, but not limited to, the following:
Monitors relevant news, conversations, and trends in social media sites, tools, and applications; applying that knowledge to increasing the use of social media for communications; strategizing with, advising, and educating staff on incorporating relevant social media techniques into communications and other outreach activities; and measuring the impact of social media.
Write and directly contribute in social media outlets with targeted marketing messages that elicit feedback and comment. Draft messages should be reviewed by a member of the marketing team before being posted.
Monitor and measuring of social media channels.
Responsible for managing Informz – IAEE’s email and marketing automation system – including creation and management of all emails and specialty marketing automation campaigns. Marketing Specialist will work directly with the Marketing Manager to ensure all emails are sent and proofed in a timely manner and that all marketing automation campaigns are running properly.
Responsible for regular maintenance of the IAEE and CEIR websites insuring that information is up to date.
Responsible for the IAEE blog site and uploading/proofing all content before it is live.
General Marketing & Communications
Serves on the Proofing team to ensure all communications are well written.
Serves as traffic coordinator for deployment of any organization-based electronic communications and works with other staff members requesting assistance.
Receives and compiles graphics from paid advertisers for IAEE newsletters, ensuring they are received in a timely manner, and followed up with e-mail and telephone call.
Works with the Marketing Manager to produce monthly reports on digital marketing activities.
Coordinates and/or assists with Web site content with Meetings and Marketing Departments
Assist Sr. PR/Communications Manager with gathering collateral information for partner recognition for the Annual Meeting and Professional Development Conferences
Coordinates fulfillment of projects (mailing, postage, cost estimates, mailing list purchases, etc.)
Other duties as assigned.
BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS OF INCUMBENT:
The minimum educational requirements shall be an Associates degree and/or Certificate of Marketing.
S. or B.A. degree is highly preferred.
3-5 years of previous marketing, communications, and social media community engagement experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Self-starter, results oriented
Positive attitude, willingness to learn
Ability to thrive in a strong team environment
Quantitative skills. Individual must create tracking metrics and be able to communicate them in dashboard format.
A skilled communicator and writer comfortable with taking initiative and learning new digital media technologies.
Knowledge of Web 2.0/3.0 technologies and communications vehicles, video editing and Web editing tools.
Has excellent telephone manners;
Be capable of operating standard office equipment;
Has the capability to learn and effectively use necessary computer software to carry out the responsibilities of the position;
Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Word, Excel, FrontPage and Outlook.
Has adequate language and communication skills to effectively communicate with customers and prospective customers;
Type at least 50 words per minute.
Knowledge of a broad range of social media platforms.
Quality of writing, metrics, tracking and outreach efforts
Ability to educate colleagues on appropriate of social media

While performing the duties of the Marketing Specialist, there will be a requirement to sit, use hands and fingers, handle and feel objects, tools, or controls, talk, and hear;
The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms;
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch;
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds;
