ADMISSIONS AND MARKETING ASSISTANT , Leaders for Global Operations (LGO) Program (part-time, 20 hrs/wk.), to provide administrative support to admissions and marketing staff. Will be responsible for a full range of duties in support of the operations of the admissions office and the recruitment of prospective students to the LGO program. Principal duties include assisting prospective students in person, on the telephone, or via email regarding graduate program offerings, application requirements, and general admission information; coordinating administrative and operations aspects of the admissions and evaluation process, including distributing files to readers/faculty, candidate communication, etc.; representing LGO at MIT Sloan information sessions and via online chats; coordinating events for prospective students; supporting admissions marketing efforts, e.g., social media posts, contributing to print publications and website, arranging video capture/production, etc.; coordinating logistics for the admissions committee meeting; maintaining electronic and paper filing systems and databases; serving as primary resource for newly admitted students; and performing other duties as requested.
REQUIRED : high school diploma or its equivalent; at least three years' secretarial, office, or related experience; strong organizational, interpersonal, writing, editorial, and communication skills; ability to interact effectively with applicants, students, faculty, alumni, and Institute and corporate officials at all levels; close attention to detail; comfort working independently and within a close team environment; strong computer skills and experience with MS Office and database reporting. Must be able to make decisions, set priorities, and resolve problems effectively and tactfully; handle sensitive materials and maintain confidentiality; and speak in large groups. Experience at MIT and in higher education administration or admissions preferred, as is experience managing social media accounts. Bachelor's degree preferred. Job #16378-5
