BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENTAL OVERVIEW: The Student Affairs Business Development Team is charged with creating a business infrastructure that will maximize current revenue potential, drive growth and new revenue opportunities, develop and maintain strategic campus and community partnerships, and add measurable value to the student experience.

Responsibilities
This position supports the Student Affairs Business Development team and will provide direct project support in all aspects of the revenue generation model that includes large scale events, social and digital media campaigns, eSports programming and cause related marketing projects.
The incumbent will be involved in the analysis of identified constituencies/audiences and the development of programs, services, and outreach to meet identified needs and influence public perception. As the project specialist for this team, the incumbent will help the team identify opportunities, develop plans, navigate obstacles, and support program execution in effort to bring Student Affairs revenue-generating development opportunities to fruition.
Business Development projects are often complex and executed under tight deadlines and have far-reaching consequences for Divisional budget and programs. Various business development and partnership approaches are required and innovation and creativity must be applied to stay abreast of ever changing market trends, UC policy, and established precedent.
An important factor in the success of this role will be the ability to manage complex projects supporting the goals of establishing potential sponsorships/partnerships and revenue growth opportunities across the division. The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing innovative change, often without a road map, in an evolving marketplace.
Equally important is the ability to conduct ongoing research to identify the behavioral and consumer lifestyle habits and trends of generational markets including the undergraduate and graduate student populations.
The successful incumbent will have demonstrated experience and an a willingness to keep current with the lifestyle consumer and programmatic trends, marketing and social and digital media best practices as well as have the ability to understand campus policies and procedures. They will demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions and operate collaboratively in concept planning, project definition and feasibility phases of major projects.
Required Qualifications
Strong knowledge of marketing mediums and funding sources. Strong knowledge of communication principles, media, and marketing techniques. Strong visual communication skills Strong interpersonal communication and political acumen skills. Strong analytical and written communication skills to prepare a variety of correspondence, reports, policies and procedures, sales documents, contracts, and training documents. Strong knowledge of application and use of statistics and research practices in developing marketing strategies. Strong project management skills Ability to gain knowledge of the campus, including its achievements, mission, vision, goals, Strong skills in event and media activities management. Skill in mentoring less experienced staff. Ability to exercise independent judgment; relies on experience, knowledge, skills and abilities to make sound decisions Skills to work under pressure of multiple deadlines in a stressful environment to meet project deadlines within budget. Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
Project management experience in sales and marketing or business development
Salary & Benefits
