The Director of Marketing is an experienced marketing and communications professional with a proactive and collaborative working style to work directly with the Chief Operating Officer to develop and implement analytics-driven marketing and branding strategies for Destinations International. The Director, in consultation with senior leadership, is responsible for the execution of the marketing strategy that promotes the organization's mission, enhances and elevates its brand, broadens its reach, and strengthens its impact. These strategies will need to raise visibility and revenue for Association and Foundation departments, initiatives, products and services. Further, this position will serve to reinforce the value of association membership in ways that significantly strengthen Destinations International's membership recruitment and retention. JOB RELATIONSHIPS Reports To: Chief Operating Officer (COO) Supervises: Vendors, consultants and occasionally intern(s) Member of: Marketing Department RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES - Directs all general marketing and branding for the Association and Foundation through the creation, development, and maintenance of all marketing plans and time lines for all programs, events and initiatives.
- Implement content marketing strategy for the organization across all communications platforms.
- Create content, define and implement brand voice, manage content, analyze engagement and shift strategies frequently to drive engagement.
- Oversee all print collateral (images, graphics and artwork), proofread and edit material to check content for accuracy, and collaborate with professionals (e.g. designers, agency, etc.) to improve content and collateral presentations.
- Collaborate with departments to create cross-promotional opportunities to maximize value, awareness and revenue for conferences, events, strategic campaigns, products and services for the organization.
- Manage all technical aspects of the organization’s marketing strategies, including campaign execution and analysis of campaign metrics. On occasion will be responsible for assisting with research as needed to support marketing campaign preparation.
- Act as editor and project manager of the all Association and Foundation newsletters, directories and sales materials.
- Travel to special events, board meetings, and other programs as requested.
- Successfully handle ongoing department budgetary duties as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
- 7+ years’ experience in Association, hospitality or direct destination marketing experience a plus.
- Working knowledge of content management system, email marketing or marketing automation software
- Strong analytic and critical thinking skills.
- Experience in project management and/or information architecture.
- Excellent writen, editorial, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to unforeseen circumstances.
- Attention to detail with a high-level of accuracy.
- Must be quick study for technology products and highly adaptable to new information.
- Passion for Destinations International's mission and belief in the power of marketing and communications.
- Persuasive marketer and communicator with substantial writing and editing experience (externally focused)
- Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills.

- Understanding the dynamics of a membership or association-style organization
