Develop, execute, and manage marketing and communication plans in support of key commercialization and entrepreneurship programs at Wright State Research Institute. Responsible for identifying overlap, synergies, and joint communication and marketing opportunities among stakeholders. Develops public communication tactics in support of strategies, including messaging, content, and social media.
-Bachelor's degree. -3 years of experience in marketing, communications and/or journalism. -6 years of work experience in a professional environment, this may include experience as a freelancer and/or consultant. -Proven project management skills and superior verbal, written, and presentation skills.
-5+ years of experience in marketing, communications and/or journalism. -Experience building relationships with journalists, reporters, and/or news/interest publications. -Bachelor's degree with emphasis in journalism, marketing or related field is preferred. -Experience developing strong relationships with media and pitching stories.
-Experience writing press release
-Familiarity with national media.
-DCMP (the DMA Certified Marketing Professional program) or equivalent
Essential Functions and percent of time::
60% Marketing Communications: Oversees and/or executes marketing communications to support business goals for WSRI. Manages commercialization and entrepreneurship program brands for WSRI and its business lines. Effectively utilizes a comprehensive array of communications channels such as media relations, web, digital and social media, newsletters, community relations, special events, sponsorships, and community collaborations.
Under minimal supervision, responsible for creating and implementing marketing communication plans for multiple business lines.
Develops appropriate brand messaging and positioning strategies
May oversee or direct the work of others, including contractors/vendors
Develop, plan and execute marketing and communication for events
Support of project staff in recruitment efforts for commercialization and entrepreneurship programming
This is a grant funded position with continuation dependent on funding. Special contract terms and conditions of employment apply.
